Job summary

Motorola Solutions seeks a Business Development Engineer for the US Marine Corps to bridge RF capabilities with Marine Corps requirements, supporting field trials and demonstrations.

You will work with Applications Engineering and Business Development to align technical deliverables with strategic priorities, travel up to 50% and leverage your security clearance readiness to advance defense technology programs.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related C5ISR field; 2–5 years in systems engineering or defense tech.
• Exposure to SDRs, IP routing, or tactical comms.
• Familiar with RF test equipment (spectrum analyzers, signal generators).
• Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or ability to obtain within 15 months.
• U.S. Citizenship required due to government contracts.
• Background check and drug test clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze USMC priorities and map requirements to tactical radio solutions.
• Plan and execute field trials, modernizations, and user evaluations.
• Collaborate with Applications Engineering to validate architectures.
• Support Business Development with technical needs and strategic priorities.
• Build and present technical demos for expeditionary and edge networking.
• Contribute to RFI/RFP responses with technical input.
• Conduct market research on partnerships and end-to-end network architectures.
• Engage with MARCORSYSCOM, MCWL, PEO Land Systems and naval centers.
• Collect field feedback to influence product roadmap.
• Travel 25–50%; some remote work possible depending on location.
