Ritchie Bros. is seeking a Branch Operations Assistant to support day-to-day yard and office activities at our New Orleans branch. You will handle customer inquiries, process orders, assist with loader operations, and help maintain vehicle records during the auction cycle.

The role requires strong organization, reliable communication, and the willingness to learn forklift operation within 90 days. Outdoor work in all weather and collaboration with a diverse team are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership and time management abilities.
• Excellent communication with customers and team members.
• Willingness to learn forklift operation within 90 days.
• General mechanical knowledge of vehicles and equipment.
• Experience in equipment rental or construction industry preferred.
• Basic automotive repair skills helpful.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer support via mail, telephone, and in-person interactions.
• Process orders and data entry into the system.
• Reference pricing and delivery information.
• Respond to customer questions, complaints, and requests.
• Handle clerical duties including word processing and filing.
• Process paperwork for auction day and obtain approvals.
• Follow established procedures under supervisor guidance.
• Learn forklift operation within 90 days of starting.
• Assist with other office functions as needed.
• Record vehicle information during check-in and maintain records.
• Detail and clean vehicles to improve auction value.
• Safely move vehicles around the facility using routine driving tasks.
• Assist visitors and direct them to appropriate contacts.
• Support Yard Attendants, Loader Operators, and Customer Service staff.
• Perform additional duties as needed by the business.
