Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers seeks a Branch Operations Assistant to handle customer inquiries, office clerical tasks, and yard duties under supervision. The role includes loader operation, data entry, and ensuring accurate vehicle records during the auction process.

This position emphasizes teamwork, safety, and adaptability in a fast-paced auction environment, with opportunities to learn vehicle titling and yard management. A strong candidate will excel in communication and hands-on tasks.

Qualifications

• Leadership and time-management are essential; able to work independently and resolve issues.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with customers and staff.
• Willing to learn forklift operation within 90 days of starting; basic mechanical knowledge required.
• Experience in equipment rental or construction preferred; basic automotive repair skills helpful.
• Strong MS Office skills including Excel and PowerPoint required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer support via mail, phone, and in person.
• Process orders, data entry, and reference pricing and delivery info.
• Answer questions, handle complaints, and fulfill requests.
• Perform clerical duties and word processing tasks.
• Manage auction day paperwork and approvals under supervisor guidance.
• Assist with yard operations and vehicle check-in and disposition.
• Operate loaders and move vehicles safely around the facility.
• Support visitors and direct them to appropriate staff.
• Report policy violations to supervisors promptly.
• Other duties as needed per business requirements.
