Job summary

TEKsystems is hiring a Branch Operations Assistant for our New Orleans location. This fully onsite, contract-to-hire role supports daily branch operations, handles customer inquiries, data entry, and vehicle processing in a fast-paced auction environment.

compensation starts at $20/hr with opportunities to learn forklift operation and advance within the team. Work hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM in New Orleans, LA 70126 as part of a small office and yard team.

Qualifications

• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
• General mechanical knowledge of vehicles.
• Willingness to learn forklift operation within 90 days.
• Previous forklift, automotive, construction, equipment rental, or related experience preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer support via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
• Process orders, assignments, and data entry with accuracy.
• Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and service requests.
• Complete filing, documentation, and general clerical tasks.
• Prepare and process auction-related paperwork.
• Assist with vehicle check-in, recordkeeping, and lot organization.
• Safely move and position vehicles throughout the facility.
• Detail vehicles to enhance appearance and auction value.
• Operate loaders and learn automobile titling processes.
• Support office operations and assist visitors as needed.
• Serve as a resource for yard and customer service team members.
• Follow safety guidelines and company policies at all times.
