Job summary

State Employees' Credit Union in Durham is seeking a Lead Member Services Officer to lead branch operations, mentor staff, and oversee lending activities. You will act as a branch leader in the absence of senior management and supervise loan underwriting, collections, and training efforts.

The role requires strong lending knowledge, customer service excellence, and the ability to balance multiple responsibilities across in-person, phone, and digital channels.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; Bachelor’s preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of SECU or related experience preferred.
• Proven leadership, mentoring and training abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee branch operations and lead underwriting per SECU policies.
• Supervise collections and manage loan/deposit queues.
• Mentor staff and ensure comprehensive product training.
• Assist MLOs in non-MLO duties and support branch leadership.
• Balance cash drawers and process transactions across service channels.
