Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is hiring Border Patrol Agents (BPAs) at multiple grades. The role involves enforcing immigration and customs laws, conducting patrols, and using diverse assets to secure U.S. borders.

The position offers strong benefits and potential recruitment incentives, with progression through GL-5 to GS-11 levels. New BPAs may receive substantial recruitment and retention incentives, with academy completion and prioritized locations guiding additional compensation.

Qualifications

• One year of general work experience demonstrating ability to take charge and make sound decisions in stressful situations.
• Ability to learn regulations, methods and techniques through training and on-the-job instruction.

Responsabilités

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws and inspecting documents to determine citizenship or violations.
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers at or near borders using surveillance and night-vision equipment.
• Interpreting and following tracks, marks and other evidence of illegal entry or contraband.
• Performing farm checks, building checks, traffic checks, city patrols and transportation checks.
• Patrolling international boundaries and coastal waters using various government assets.
