U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is hiring Border Patrol Agents (BPAs) at multiple grades (GL-5, GL-7, GL-9, GS-11) with base pay ranges listed.

This federal role offers comprehensive benefits, leave, and Thrift Savings Plan, along with recruitment incentives up to $20,000 and potential retention incentives of up to $30,000. BPAs perform duties across border security, surveillance, inspections, enforcement, and law enforcement collaboration.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Immigration and Nationality Law
• Knowledge of Use of Force Policy
• Knowledge of Criminal Law and Procedure
• Skill in Using Physical Techniques (self-defense, baton, OC spray)
• Skill in Using Firearms (handgun, shotgun, M-4)
• Skills in Basic Operation of a Motor Vehicle

Responsibilities

• Detect and question individuals suspected of immigration or customs violations.
• Prevent and apprehend undocumented individuals and contraband near borders.
• Interpret evidence and documents to determine citizenship or violations.
• Perform routine patrols and checks using various government assets.
