Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is hiring Border Patrol Agents (BPAs). This full-time role supports national security by enforcing immigration and border laws and performing a variety of patrol duties across the United States.

BPAs operate at multiple pay grades (GL-5, GL-7, GL-9 or GS-11) with strong benefits, and incentives for recruitment and retention. Location options include numerous priority sites nationwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or a full four-year course of study from an accredited college or university.
• Combination of experience and education acceptable.
• Formal training at the Border Patrol Academy after hire.

Responsibilities

• Detect and question individuals suspected of immigration or customs violations.
• Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders.
• Interpret tracks and evidence of illegal entry and contraband.
• Perform farm, building, traffic, city, and transportation checks.
• Patrol borders using vehicles, horses, vessels and other assets.
