Customs and Border Protection (CBP) seeks Border Patrol Agents (BPA) for full-time, entry and mid-level roles across the United States. BPAs enforce immigration and customs laws, conduct inspections, and protect border security while enjoying federal employment benefits and job stability, plus recruitment incentives.

The position spans multiple grade levels (GL-5 to GS-11) with potential promotion, required training at the Border Patrol Academy, and eligibility for the Thrift Savings Plan and

Competenze

• One year of general work experience that demonstrates ability to take charge, make sound decisions, and remain calm under stress; to learn regulations, methods, and techniques through training or on-the-job instruction; and to gather concise information through questioning, observation, and examination of documents and records.
• A bachelor’s degree or successful completion of a full four-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; OR
• A combination of general work experience AND college education, as submitted with your application.

Mansioni

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws and inspecting documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using surveillance and other assets
• Interpreting tracks, marks, and evidence of illegal entry or contraband
• Performing farm checks, building checks, traffic checks, city patrols, and transportation checks
• Patrolling international boundaries and coastal waterways using vehicles, horses, vessels, and off-road equipment
