Job summary

Reuters is seeking a 3 Bindery Operator for our Eagan, Minnesota printing plant. You will set up, monitor, and troubleshoot bindery equipment on the Core Publishing Solutions team, performing quality checks and communicating effectively during shifts.

This full-time, on-site role offers a 1st shift from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM, occasional overtime and weekends, a $2,500 sign-on bonus after 90 days, and opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement and safety programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or higher.
• Strong mechanical/technical troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of Lean concepts and continuous improvement.
• Ability to read measurements with rulers and measurement tools.
• Experience on perfect binders with up to 40-station collators, 3-knife trimmers, inline boxing, and palletizing.

Responsibilities

• Review job specifications for material and set-up requirements.
• Perform set-up tasks.
• Monitor equipment and product quality, and obtain maintenance support as needed.
• Perform simple to moderately complex troubleshooting related to product or equipment.
• Communicate effectively during the shift and at shift hand-off.
• Evaluate the mechanical condition of equipment and complete preventative maintenance.
• Use computer-based workflow applications to manage files, as needed.
• Document activities accurately on Tier Boards and in relevant systems (MII, SAP), including material usage and equipment issues.
• Perform feeding, catching off, stacking, bundling, or physical inventory cycle count activities, as needed.
• Actively participate in company safety programs and help build a safe culture.
• Meet or exceed established quality and productivity standards using standard work procedures.
• Generate, implement, and sustain continuous improvement ideas.
• Participate in project teams as needed.
• Provide backup for other operators to cover absences or breaks.
• Recommend and implement process improvements
