Job summary

Cardinal Health Sonexus Access and Patient Support seeks a patient-focused professional to manage the care process from benefit verification to medication delivery, ensuring a seamless patient experience.

You will verify benefits, coordinate with providers and insurers, assist with prior authorization and appeals, and help patients understand coverage and costs while maintaining strong payer knowledge and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of patient-facing or high-touch customer interaction experience.
• Fluent in Spanish and English.
• Hub or Patient Support experience preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid & Commercial payer policies preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the entire care process from benefit investigation/verification to medication delivery, ensuring an exceptional patient experience.
• Conduct benefit verifications and collaborate with physicians, specialty pharmacies, and insurers for timely access to services.
• Assist in obtaining insurance, prior authorization, and appeals requirements/outcomes.
• Help patients understand insurance coverage and out-of-pocket costs, guidance on appeals if needed.
• Resolve patient questions or concerns regarding status of assistance requests.
• Demonstrate knowledge of payer landscapes and reimbursement changes and plan for various scenarios.
• Process enrollments via fax, phone, and electronic means.
• Scrutinize forms and documentation for missing information and update databases.
• Receive inbound calls from patients, providers, SPs, and customers, aiming for one-call resolution.
