Job summary

Cardinal Health is hiring for a remote Patient Support Specialist to manage the full care process from benefit verification to medication delivery. You will verify benefits, coordinate with doctors, specialty pharmacies, and insurers to ensure timely access and affordability for patients.

The role requires bilingual Spanish/English communication, 2–4 years in patient-facing support, and knowledge of payer policies.

Qualifications

• Fluent in both Spanish and English required.
• 2-4 years of patient-facing or high-touch customer interaction experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid & Commercial payer policies is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage the entire care process from benefit verification to medication delivery.
• Conduct benefit verifications and coordinate with physicians, SPs, insurers for timely access.
• Assist with insurance, prior authorizations, and appeals requirements.
• Explain insurance coverage and out-of-pocket costs to patients and guide on appeals if needed.
• Respond to patient questions and represent patient concerns about assistance status.
• Understand payer landscapes and changes in reimbursement (Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care).
• Process enrollments via fax, phone, and electronically.
• Review forms and documentation for completeness.
• Handle inbound calls from patients and healthcare providers with a focus on one-call resolution.
