Sandhills Medical seeks a Patient Service Representative to handle patient registration, scheduling, and insurance verification, ensuring a helpful and welcoming front-office experience. This role requires English/Spanish fluency, HIPAA awareness, and accurate data entry in the EHR.

You will greet patients, collect demographics and insurance details, confirm appointments, process co-pays, and guide patients through the Sliding Fee Discount Program as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.
• Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, procedures and diagnosis.
• Knowledge of healthcare insurance and office scheduling.
• Proactive identifies/rectifies problems to avoid potential service issues.
• Strong communication, organization and customer service skills.
• Willingness to occasionally work flexible hours.

Responsabilités

• Register new and returning patients and collect accurate demographic and insurance information in the EHR system.
• Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments based on provider availability.
• Verify Medicaid, Medicare and private insurance eligibility and determine SFDP qualification.
• Collect co-payments and balances; provide financial assistance information.
• Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
• Balance cash drawers and assist with daily reports.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and timely communication.
