Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic (YVFWC) in Grandview, WA, is seeking a Dental Receptionist to be the welcoming first contact for patients. You will manage calls, scheduling, data entry, and patient communications in a fast-paced dental environment.

The role emphasizes accurate records, insurance coordination, and patient‑centered service. You will work a 36‑hour schedule with bilingual incentives and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• One year's experience in a clinic, optometry or dental office preferred.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) required at a level 9.
• Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks with interruptions.
• Professional interaction with patients, providers and staff.
• Basic proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare billing insurance preferred.
• Deliver outstanding customer service.
• Flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Answers the phone, transfers calls and takes messages for the clinic.
• Greets patients and maintains patient/visitor log; provides translation as needed.
• Collects accurate data; creates and updates patient charts and data in the computer.
• Schedules appointments per guidelines; notifies providers of no-shows and cancellations.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and files documentation; answers questions about plans.
• Reviews patient questions in person, by phone, and via patient portals.
• Performs routine billing: posting encounters, billing insurers, processing payments, day-end reports.
• Reconciles cash box daily.
• Manages referrals from inception to completion.
• Manages recall communications for routine care and appointments.
• Sends clinic documents to Health Information; files clinic documents in records.
• Creates treatment plan estimates; reviews with patient and collects upfront fees.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
