Job summary

Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic (YVFWC) seeks a Relief Dental Assistant for Grandview Medical-Dental Clinic in Grandview, WA. You will support providers, maintain records, perform X-rays, and promote infection control while ensuring high-quality care.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, BLS within 90 days, and Dental Assistant certification (EFDA/DA). Bilingual English/Spanish is required and compensable. On-site with a weekly schedule and on-call features.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Registration as a Surgical Technologist if assisting a Dentist in the operating room.
• Registered Dental Assistant or EFDA certification.
• Bilingual English/Spanish required at a level 10.
• ALTA score of 10 can trigger bilingual differential compensation.
• Basic knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, materials and infection control.
• Ability to perform four-handed dental assisting and related tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient medical records and vital signs.
• Conduct complete X-ray procedures (panoramic, cephalometric) and store in EDR.
• Set up and record periodontal charting as instructed.
• Prepare instruments and equipment for patient exams.
• Mix materials with infection control awareness.
• Provide preventative periodontal care (polish, fluoride, sealants).
• Monitor nitrous oxide analgesia under supervision.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene.
• Assist infection control program and sterilization processes.
• May assist in Orthodontics (records, models, retainers, ligature ties).
• Perform duties per TJC/HRSA/YVFWC requirements.
