Job summary

CAMS - Texas is seeking a Benefits Specialist to support day-to-day administration of health, welfare, retirement, and leave programs. The role acts as a primary contact for inquiries, processes enrollments, and coordinates with vendors, payroll, and stakeholders to ensure accurate records and compliance.

You will assist with communications, annual open enrollment, reporting, and employee education to deliver a positive benefits experience for staff. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in HR, business, or related field.
• 3+ years in benefits administration or HR.
• Experience with health and welfare, retirement, and leave programs.
• Familiarity with COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, ERISA, and FMLA.
• Experience using HRIS, benefits administration, and payroll systems.
• Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary contact for employee benefit inquiries and enrollment guidance.
• Administer the company's health and welfare, retirement, leave-related, and voluntary benefit programs.
• Process enrollments, life event changes, beneficiary updates, terminations, and COBRA actions.
• Maintain benefit records in HRIS and vendor systems with data accuracy.
• Coordinate with providers, brokers, payroll, and stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Assist with annual open enrollment planning, testing, and communications.
• Develop and distribute benefit-related communications and wellness information.
• Support audits, regulatory filings, and compliance activities.
