Job summary

Camstex in Houston, TX is seeking a Benefits Specialist to manage day-to-day benefits administration and serve as a primary contact for employee inquiries.

You will oversee health and welfare, retirement, leave programs, and COBRA, while coordinating with vendors, payroll, and HR stakeholders to ensure accurate records and compliant processes.

The role supports open enrollment, communications, audits, and reporting to enable a positive benefits experience for employees.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in HR, business, or related field required.
• 3+ years in benefits administration or HR
• Knowledge of health and welfare, retirement, and leave programs
• Familiarity with COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, ERISA, and FMLA

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for employee benefit inquiries and enrollment guidance.
• Administer health and welfare, retirement, leave, and voluntary programs.
• Process enrollments, life events, beneficiary updates, terminations, COBRA.
• Maintain benefit records in HRIS and vendor systems; audits for data integrity.
• Coordinate with providers, brokers, payroll, and stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Review and reconcile benefit invoices, reports, and eligibility files.
• Support annual open enrollment planning, communications, testing, and administration.
• Develop and distribute benefit communications and wellness information.
• Assist with audits, reporting, regulatory filings, and compliance activities.
• Generate reports and analyses for administration and management decisions.
• Participate in benefits and wellness initiatives and special projects.
• Travel periodically for benefit-related meetings and enrollment events.
