Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) is seeking a paraprofessional/behavior aide to support students in K-12 settings with intensive behavioral needs. You will work under a multidisciplinary team to implement IEP goals and evidence-based behavior strategies.

In this role, you will provide one-on-one support, help with de-escalation techniques, track progress, and communicate with families. A high school diploma is required, with preferred experience in education-based behavioral support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• Experience with behavioral interventions preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one with students to meet goals set forth in IEP, providing accommodations and modifications as necessary.
• Assist in development and modification of behavior support plans.
• Implement behavior support plans; record and track data on behaviors, progress toward goals, and incidents.
• Utilize behavior support and intervention strategies.
• Implement de-escalation techniques, crisis management, and physical restraint if necessary to maintain safety.
• Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages development of social and behavioral skills.
• Supervise students and ensure they are monitored at appropriate locations.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure consistent implementation of behavior support plans.
• Provide personal care support as needed.
• Communicate effectively with parents.
