Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) invites you to join as a paraprofessional/behavior aide to support students with IEP goals.

You will provide customized behavior support, assist in implementing plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to foster growth with positive interventions. You will work in in-district classrooms and standalone schools, with smaller class sizes, paid training, and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Experience working in an educational setting implementing behavioral interventions for students with intensive behavioral needs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work in a setting with diverse students from varying background.
• Work one on one with an assigned student to meet goals in their IEP, providing accommodations as necessary.
• Assist in development and modification of behavior support plans.
• Implement behavior support plans; record and track data on behaviors, progress toward goals, and incidents.
• Utilize behavior support and intervention strategies.
• Implement de-escalation techniques, crisis management, and physical restraint if necessary to maintain safety.
• Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages social and behavioral development.
• Supervise students and ensure they are monitored, including to and from locations.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure consistent implementation of plans.
• Provide personal care support as needed.
• Communicate effectively with parents.
