Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) is seeking a paraprofessional/behavior aide to support K-12 students with individualized education plans.

You will work one-on-one with students, assist in developing and implementing behavior support plans, and record progress data to guide instruction. Responsibilities include implementing PBIS-based strategies, de-escalation when needed, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safety and inclusive learning environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma; experience in education preferred.
• Experience implementing behavioral interventions in schools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one with an assigned student to meet IEP goals.
• Assist in developing and modifying behavior support plans.
• Implement plans and record data on behaviors, progress toward goals, and incidents.
• Use behavior support and intervention strategies.
• Apply de-escalation techniques, crisis management, and physical restraint if necessary to maintain safety.
• Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages development of social and behavioral skills.
• Supervise students and ensure they are monitored during travel to and from school locations.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure consistent implementation of behavior support plans.
• Provide personal care support as needed.
• Communicate effectively with parents.
