Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) is seeking a paraprofessional/behavior aide to support students with intensive behavioral needs in K-12 settings. You will work one-on-one with students, implement and modify behavior support plans, and track progress as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Salary starts at $15.25/hour with six to eight weeks off yearly included, effectively $18.44/hour. The role includes breaks, holidays, and summer break, contributing to a stable, student-centered work

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• Experience working in educational settings with intensive behavioral needs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one with an assigned student to meet goals in their IEP.
• Assist in development and modification of behavior support plans.
• Implement behavior support plans and track data on behaviors and progress.
• Utilize behavior support and intervention strategies to support student growth.
• Apply de-escalation techniques and crisis management when needed to ensure safety.
• Foster a positive, inclusive environment that promotes social and behavioral skill development.
• Supervise students during school activities and transitions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure consistent plan implementation.
• Provide personal care support as needed based on student requirements.
• Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers.
