Job summary

Cherry Creek School District is seeking a Before and After School Leader to assist the program director in planning and implementing the child care program, and to foster strong relationships with families and the school community.

This role involves supervising children, maintaining safety, promoting the program, delivering quality activities and field trips, and supporting ongoing staff development; a background in childcare, clear communication, and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required.
• Leader must be age 18 or over.
• Must have 3 months (455 hours) of verified experience with 4+ children or hold a Level I credential.
• Each year, June 1–May 31, at least 15 clock hours of training.
• Knowledge of most aspects of childcare.
• Ability to develop and utilize appropriate discipline procedures.

Responsibilities

• Follow Colorado licensing requirements and enforce them daily.
• Supervise and engage with students during program times.
• Communicate effectively with parents, students, staff and district personnel.
• Maintain safe conditions for all students and staff.
• Promote and market the program for before/after care and full days.
• Attend required professional development trainings.
• Assist to implement quality lesson plans for each operating day.
• Assist with maintenance, storage and repair of equipment and supplies.
• Contribute ideas for enrichment activities and program quality.
• Create activities and field trips for full day programming.
• Attend monthly program staff meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
