Job summary

Cherry Creek Schools seeks an Assistant for after-school child care to supervise students under a qualified leader, assisting with daily activities and maintaining safe conditions. The role emphasizes strong communication with parents, students and staff and supports program quality and enrichment ideas.

Under the guidance of a director or designee, you will help foster positive relations with the school community and contribute to program operations in a dynamic after-school environment.

Qualifications

• Assistant must be at least 16 years of age.
• Assistants work directly under supervision of the director, assistant director or leader.
• Each year of employment, the assistant must complete at least 15 clock hours of training.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.
• Ability to work with school age children.
• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire.

Responsibilities

• Completes all tasks assigned by director, assistant director, or leader.
• Follow procedures as stated in the ECS Procedures Manual.
• Participates and plays with students in structured and unstructured activities.
• Maintains safe conditions for students and staff.
• Follows and enforces program discipline policies and procedures.
• Assists with maintenance, proper storage, and repair of equipment, materials and supplies.
• Contributes ideas for enrichment activities, curriculum, and program quality.
• Demonstrates excellent communication with parents, students, school staff and co workers.
• Follows district policies and goals and uses district facilities with care.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
