Job summary

Motorola Solutions is seeking a Business Development Engineer for the US Air Force to bridge radio frequency capabilities with DoD requirements. You will work with Engineering and Business Development to demonstrate interoperability, field-readiness, and scalable solutions across airborne, surface, and expeditionary environments.

Role includes up to 50% travel and a 100% remote option depending on location; must have a SECRET clearance or ability to obtain one and be a U.S. citizen.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related C5ISR field with 2–5 years of experience in systems engineering or defense tech roles.
• Or HS diploma with 5+ years of relevant technical/defense experience.
• Exposure to SDRs, IP routing, or tactical communication systems.
• Familiar with RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers and signal generators.
• Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or ability to obtain within 15 months.
• Must be a U.S. citizen; background check and drug test required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze US Air Force priorities and map requirements to tactical radio solutions.
• Plan network configurations and run field trials and evaluations.
• Collaborate with Engineering to benchmark data and validate architectures.
• Align with BD to meet technical needs and strategic priorities.
• Build and present demonstrations for airborne, edge, and expeditionary needs.
• Support RFI/RFP responses and end-to-end testing of architectures.
