Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking a Bakery Clerk to support the bakery team by preparing, packaging, and merchandising baked goods with a focus on quality and customer service.

You will assist the Bakery Manager, maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized department, and help customers with orders in a fast-paced environment.

Eligible candidates will be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and must meet safety requirements and food-handling guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with a High school diploma or equivalent; with 1-2 Bakery experience; or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Be dependable and reliable with ability to work flexible schedule including night, weekends and holidays.
• Outgoing, friendly attitude with ability to interact with customers.
• Good communication skills; able to take direction and work in a team environment.
• Ability to answer phones and take special orders.
• Perform general housekeeping and maintain clean, sanitary bakery area and equipment.
• Operate knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, and handling equipment; weigh and label products correctly.
• Stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs; follow safety and regulatory requirements including Food Handler permit.

Responsibilities

• Assist Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising baked goods.
• Provide high level customer service and ensure proper presentation of bakery items.
• Maintain clean, safe bakery area; keep shelves, cases, and floors tidy and sanitary.
• Stock and rotate bakery products; verify shipment quality and temperatures.
• Respond to customer orders and support fast-paced operation.
