Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee, Inc. in Shelbyville is seeking a Retail Production Team Lead to oversee backroom operations, donation intake, processing, sorting, and pricing to support store readiness and sales performance.

You will lead a hands-on team, ensure safety, quality, and compliance with processing guidelines, and coach staff to meet production goals while upholding donor service standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in business, logistics, or related field preferred.
• Experience in production, warehouse, or retail/logistics environments (1–2 years).
• Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to lead a diverse team.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily backroom production operations, including donation intake, sorting, processing, pricing, and material handling.
• Provide hands-on leadership to backroom staff to meet production goals and quotas.
• Monitor workflow and productivity; ensure efficient movement from intake to production.
• Enforce quality control, accurate sorting, proper pricing, and compliance with processing guidelines.
• Safeguard donated goods and uphold donor experience through respectful handling.
• Train, coach, and develop backroom team on procedures, safety, and standards.
• Support opening/closing activities and maintain backroom readiness.
• Coordinate movement of processed goods to the sales floor; address hazards and safety concerns.
• Ensure adherence to organizational policies, loss prevention, and public protection requirements.
• Perform other duties to support store operations and leadership priorities.
