Job summary

Fastenal Co. is seeking a Full-time Sales Associate for our Beltsville, MD branch. You will drive B2B sales, develop new partnerships, and manage existing customer relationships through a consultative approach.

The role includes local travel to customer sites and requires onboarding before potential flexible scheduling. Ideal candidates have strong communication, aggressive but customer-focused sales mindset, and solid computer skills.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Possess a valid driver's license and ability to meet company vehicle requirements.
• Degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations, Management or related field OR customer service/industry experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Aptitude for sales and a drive to sell.
• Self-motivated and customer service oriented.
• Strong math aptitude, attention to detail, and sense of urgency.
• Strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities.
• Strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills.
• Adherence to core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork.
• Able to lift, slide, carry, and lower 25–50 lbs, up to 75 lbs.
• Pass drug screen (US, Puerto Rico and Guam) and background check.

Responsibilities

• Support business-to-business (B2B) sales and customer service activities.
• Provide value through a consultative sales approach.
• Develop new and grow existing relationships from leads, referrals and prospecting.
• Coordinate resources to respond to customer service needs.
• Perform local sales calls using a company vehicle to customer sites.
• Other duties as needed to ensure branch success.
