Job summary

Anduril Industries in the United States is seeking a bug-hunting software engineer who will work across subsystems in our defense tech stack. You’ll reproduce field anomalies, trace them to root causes, write fixes in Rust, C++, Python, or Go, and validate them in simulated or hardware-in-the-loop environments.

This role emphasizes strong debugging instincts, rigorous testing, and clear documentation, with about 25% travel.

Qualifications

• Real experience debugging code you didn’t write, under time pressure.
• Proficiency in at least two of Rust, C++, Python, or Go.
• Experience with Linux and systems fluency.
• Familiarity with observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki/ELK).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose field-reported anomalies and locate the responsible subsystem.
• Reproduce issues using recorded data and visualization tools.
• Use per-service metrics and logs to reconstruct system state.
• Verify fixes in a simulated or hardware-in-the-loop environment.
• Implement fixes in the correct language with tests and CI.
• Determine if the problem is a bug, misconfig, or deployment mismatch.
• Document root cause and fix for each closed issue.
• Push back to owning teams when a subsystem change is needed.
