Job summary

Anduril Industries, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Mission Software Engineer for undersea reconnaissance and strike. You’ll debug field-reported anomalies, identify the responsible subsystem, and reproduce issues using real data and live pipelines, not guesswork.

You’ll write fixes in Rust, C++, Python, or Go with tests and CI. You’ll determine whether problems are bugs, bad configs, or deployment mismatches, and document root causes and fixes to improve subsystems over time. Travel 25%+ is expected.

Qualifications

• Real experience debugging code you didn't write, under time pressure.
• Familiar with at least two of Rust, C++, Python, Go to read and fix bugs.
• Systems-debugging instincts: pull logs and metrics, reconstruct what happened.
• Experience with observability tooling (Prometheus/Grafana-class metrics, Loki/ELK-class logs).
• Linux and systems fluency; bonus for declarative OS setups (NixOS).

Responsibilities

• Take field-reported anomalies and identify the actual subsystem.
• Reproduce issues with recorded data and visualize results.
• Use existing metrics/logs to reconstruct system state.
• Confirm fixes in hardware-in-the-loop where needed before real vehicles.
• Write fixes in the subsystem language with tests and CI.
• Determine bug, misconfiguration, or deployment mismatch and fix at the source.
• Document root cause and fix for long-term reliability.
• Push back to owning teams when a subsystem change is required.
