Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Sr. Mission Software Engineer for Undersea Reconnaissance & Strike. You will debug complex anomalies from field data, reproduce issues in a live pipeline, and drive end-to-end fixes across subsystems.

Expect hands-on work with Rust, C++, Python, or Go, and a strong emphasis on observability and test-driven development. You will collaborate with hardware-in-the-loop testing and CI pipelines, ensuring fixes are robust before deployment on assets.

Qualifications

• Experience debugging code under time pressure with incomplete information.
• Comfort with at least two of Rust, modern C++, Python, Go.
• Systems-debugging instincts for logs and metrics.
• Exposure to observability tooling (Prometheus/Grafana, Loki/ELK).
• Linux and systems fluency.

Responsibilities

• Take a field-reported anomaly and determine the actual subsystem.
• Reproduce the issue using recorded data and live pipelines.
• Use existing metrics/logs to reconstruct system state at failure.
• Confirm fixes in simulated hardware-in-the-loop before deployment.
• Write fixes in the subsystem language with tests and CI.
• Diagnose whether bug, config, or deployment issue and fix at source.
• Document root cause and fix for long-term learnings.
• Coordinate with owning teams to ensure proper long-term changes.
