Job summary

VIP, Inc in Needham Heights, MA is seeking a Service Writer to join our automotive service team. You will help customers by explaining vehicle conditions detected during MPI inspections and guiding them through recommended solutions.

This non-exempt, hourly role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and meeting VIP program standards. You will participate in training, schedule adherence, and daily/weekly performance reporting to support service goals.

Qualifications

One year of related experience in automotive service field.
Two-year college or technical school program recommended.
Equivalency of education and experience.
Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence.
ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended.
ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended.
State Inspection License Required (where applicable)

Responsibilities

Consult with customers to educate them about vehicle condition based on MPI inspection.
Coordinate with technicians to allocate work orders using first-available policy.
Support achievement of VIP SAX score through customer engagement.
Learn and execute VIP processes and standards for a better customer experience.
Maintain facility, comply with safety policies, and support team communication.
