Job summary

Waters is seeking a Field Service Engineer in Detroit, MI to install, maintain and service analytical instruments at customer sites, ensuring optimal performance and compliance. You will work with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and support customers globally.

The role requires up to 50% travel, occasional national travel, and participation in weekend/on-call rotations. Strong electronics, PLC knowledge and IT coordination are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field is required.
• Knowledge of electronics, mechatronics, PLCs and pneumatics.
• Networking architecture design and setup experience recommended.
• Ability to communicate with IT staff and lab leadership to schedule and complete software upgrades.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer needs and perform installations, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs.
• Drive field service revenue through preventive maintenance and equipment moves.
• Lead customer expectations and provide follow-up plans as needed.
• Collaborate with customers to plan and complete system upgrades.
• Document all customer complaints in systems for resolution and investigation.
