Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Automation / Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to join our Energy and Resources team. You will contribute to multidisciplinary design, supporting mining, power, oil & gas, and energy transition projects across North America.

The role offers opportunities to lead or support project design, with travel to client sites and Stantec offices. A Bachelor's in engineering and PE licensure (or eligibility) are required, with 5–10 years of experience in related industries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and PE license or eligible for licensure.
• 5–10 years of engineering, design and construction experience in heavy industry, mining, oil & gas, power generation.
• Willingness to travel ~10% to client sites or other Stantec offices.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support across the project lifecycle from proposals through start-up.
• Lead design of I&C construction deliverables and instrument specifications.
• Design PLC/DCS/HMI/SCADA architectures and integrate with vendor equipment.
• Prepare industrial network specifications and support underground mine projects.
• Coordinate with internal teams and clients to ensure quality and on-time delivery.
