Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Automation / Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to join our Energy and Resources consulting team. This role focuses on developing control system design foundations and strengthening consulting skills across North America.

The successful candidate will design PLC/DCS/HMI architectures, develop specifications, and support procurement while collaborating with multidisciplinary designers and remote teams. A bachelor's degree and 5–10 years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university.
• 5–10 years of engineering, design, and construction experience in heavy industry.
• Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering design and development of I&C deliverables (diagrams, wiring, layouts).
• Specify instrumentation and data sheets; support procurement and evaluation.
• Design PLC/DCS/HMI/SCADA architectures and integrate with third‑party systems.
