Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. seeks an Automation / Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to join our Energy and Resources consulting team.

This role develops strong foundations in consulting-based automation and control system design across North America. The engineer will work with a multidisciplinary design team on projects spanning mining, power generation, oil & gas, and renewables, leading and supporting design work and interfacing with clients and vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university.
• 5–10 years of engineering, design, and construction experience in heavy industry, mining, oil & gas, power generation.
• A Professional Engineering license (or the ability to become licensed).

Responsibilities

• Engineering support for multidisciplinary projects from proposals through design phases, construction, commissioning and start-up.
• Lead the design and development of I&C construction deliverables and instrumentation specifications.
• Design PLC/DCS/HMI/SCADA architectures and integration with vendor equipment packages.
• Plan and coordinate construction work packages and provide field support as required.
• Travel to client sites (~10% travel) and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
