Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Automation / Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to join our Energy and Resources consulting team. This position develops a strong foundation in consulting-based automation, instrumentation, and control system design across North America, with opportunities to lead and support diverse projects including mining, power, and energy transition.

The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary design team, collaborating with engineers and designers, and may

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited University.
• 5–10 years of engineering, design, and construction experience in heavy industry, mining, oil & gas, power generation.
• Professional Engineering license (or the ability to become licensed).

Responsibilities

• Engineering support for multidisciplinary projects from proposals through design phases and start-up.
• Site work including investigations, scope validation, construction and commissioning.
• Lead I&C drawing deliverables and instrumentation specifications/datasheets.
• Design PLC/DCS/HMI/SCADA architectures and integration with third-party systems.
• Coordinate with clients, vendors, and contractors; participate in design reviews and value engineering.
