Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Automation / Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to join our Energy and Resources consulting team. This role supports projects across North America, including mining, power, oil & gas, and renewables, with opportunities to lead and collaborate in a multidisciplinary design environment.

The successful candidate will work with engineers, EITs, designers, and specialists, contributing to proposals, design phases, commissioning, and start-up, with travel to client sites as

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university.
• 5–10 years of engineering, design, and construction experience in heavy industry, mining, oil & gas, power generation.
• Professional Engineering license or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for multidisciplinary projects from proposals through detailed design, construction, commissioning and start-up.
• Lead design and development of I&C deliverables and instrumentation datasheets.
• Design PLC/DCS/HMI/SCADA architectures and integrate with third‑party systems.
