Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Automation / Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to join our Energy and Resources team. You will contribute to multidisciplinary projects across North America, leading I&C design and control system work for mining, power, and oil & gas sectors.

The role emphasizes hands-on engineering, project development, and collaboration with designers, EITs, and clients, with travel to client sites and Stantec offices. A PE or eligibility is preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university.
5–10 years of engineering, design, and construction experience in heavy industry, mining, oil & gas, power generation.
Professional Engineering license (or ability to become licensed).

Responsibilities

Provide engineering support across proposals, design, and startup phases.
Perform site investigations and construction/commissioning support.
Lead I&C drawing deliverables and instrumentation specifications.
Design PLC/DCS/HMI architectures and integrate vendor equipment.
Coordinate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure quality.
