Job summary

Stantec, a global design firm, seeks an Automation / Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to join our Energy and Resources consulting team. You will grow through consulting-based automation and control system design across North America.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team on mining, power, oil & gas, renewable energy, and energy transition projects, with opportunities to lead and support design in multiple sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university.
• 5–10 years of engineering, design, and construction experience in heavy industry, mining, oil & gas, power generation.
• A Professional Engineering license (or the ability to become licensed).
• Strong written and verbal communication and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for multidisciplinary projects from proposal through start-up.
• Site work including investigations, scope validation, construction, and commissioning.
• Design I&C drawings, specify instrumentation, and support procurement.
• Design PLC/DCS/HMI/SCADA architectures and integrate with third-party systems.
• Plan and coordinate delivery, review deliverables, and liaise with clients and contractors.
