Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Automation / Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to join our Energy and Resources consulting team. This role focuses on developing and delivering automation and control system design for mining and heavy industry projects.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and travel to client sites. Ideal candidates have 5–10 years of engineering experience, a PE license or ability to obtain one, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited University.
• 5–10 years of engineering, design, and construction experience in heavy industry, mining, oil & gas, power generation.
• A Professional Engineering license (or the ability to become licensed).

Responsibilities

• Engineering support for multidisciplinary projects from proposals through design phases and start-up.
• Lead the design and development of I&C construction drawing deliverables and instrumentation specifications.
• Design PLC/DCS/HMI/SCADA architectures and integration with third-party systems.
• Prepare technical specifications for communication networks and industrial networks.
• Assist with Construction Work Packages and coordinate with clients, vendors and contractors.
