Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Automation / Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to join our Energy and Resources team in Denver. You will integrate with a multidisciplinary design group on projects spanning mining, power, oil & gas, and renewable energy, leading or supporting design and commissioning tasks.

You will design I&C diagrams, control systems, and networking, while developing specifications, performing calculations, and liaising with clients, vendors, and teams across North America.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited University.
• 5–10 years of engineering, design, and construction experience in heavy industry, mining, oil & gas, power generation.
• A Professional Engineering license (or the ability to become licensed).

Responsibilities

• Engineering support for multidisciplinary projects from proposals through design, construction and start-up.
• Site work for investigations, scope validation, commissioning and start-up support.
• Lead design and development of I&C drawings, instrument specs and datasheets.
• Design PLC/DCS/HMI/SCADA architectures and integrate vendor equipment packages.
• Develop control philosophies, fault/alarms and safety interlocks.
• Prepare technical specs for industrial networks and mine facility backbones.
• Coordinate CWPs, ensure quality, and collaborate with clients and vendors.
