Job summary
Electrical Automation Services in Chandler, AZ, is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer for an on-site role at the Glendale facility. The position focuses on Tier 1/2 PLC, HMI, and network troubleshooting to improve reliability and throughput.
The role includes training and mentoring maintenance staff, leading controls upgrades, and supporting new installations. Base salary ranges from $100,000 to $130,000 with a 20% target bonus and relocation assistance for qualified candidates.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent in engineering technology, information systems, industrial automation and controls.
- 4+ years in industrial automation or controls in high-speed manufacturing environments.
- Strong PLC troubleshooting and programming capabilities.
- Experience with automation for production, packaging, conveying equipment.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the on-shift controls and automation expert.
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting for PLC, HMI, VFD, servo and networking issues.
- Diagnose and fix equipment failures to restore production safely and efficiently.
- Develop and implement control projects to improve safety, quality and throughput.
- Mentor maintenance technicians and operators on controls practices.
- Maintain backups, documentation and drawings; support commissioning and system integration.
