Job summary

NAPA in Middletown, CT, is seeking a Counter Sales associate to be the face of the store, helping customers with auto parts and service questions. You will use your knowledge to assist the team and provide outstanding customer care in a fast-paced retail environment.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, willingness to learn, and strong communication and listening skills. Prior parts store or automotive experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Requires valid driver’s license.
• Experience in a parts store or automotive industry preferred or willingness to learn.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Technical or trade school courses or degree preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Strong listening skills and customer empathy.
• Background in automotive industry or related fields a plus (diesel, farm, marine).
• Experience in cataloging or inventory systems a plus.
• ASE Certifications a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Provide auto parts answers and solutions for customers in person and over the phone.
• Use parts knowledge to assist other team members with customer questions.
• Deliver outstanding customer care and engage with customers at the store.
• Maintain high energy and customer focus in a fast-paced environment.
• Greet customers and guide them to solutions for a positive experience.
• Operate the store tech: computer, cash register, phone, and paper catalogs.
