Job summary

Travelers in the United States is seeking an Associate Claim Rep, Auto Damage. The program offers comprehensive training in claim handling, customer service, and policy interpretation, with focus on autos, heavy equipment, and property damage.

The program lasts 9–12 months and progresses toward independent claims handling. You will learn to assess coverage, gather information, determine reserves, and communicate status to business customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree.
• Previous internship or work experience in customer service or insurance.
• Willingness to obtain an active adjuster license where required by state law.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally.
• Ability to exercise sound judgement and make effective decisions within established authority.
• Exceptional customer service skills and commitment to providing a positive experience for insureds and claimants.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Basic conflict resolution skills; willingness to learn techniques for facilitating productive discussions and negotiations.
• Demonstrated openness to continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in structured training classes covering policy and claim processes.
• Assess coverage to determine compensability.
• Investigate by gathering information from policyholders and witnesses.
• Obtain other evidence to properly handle the claim and assess potential fraud.
• Establish claim reserves and determine the claim resolution amount.
• Develop and execute action plans for effective claim resolution.
• Communicate and apprise all parties regarding claim status.
• Maintain accurate records of claim activity in systems.
• Adapt to new workflows and digital tool rollouts while maintaining productivity.
