Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. in Alabama is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to assist the on-site management of our community job sites during home construction and ensure quality and customer satisfaction.

You will help schedule and supervise subcontractors, enforce safety standards, manage materials, and maintain timelines and budgets while delivering a high-quality product. A valid driver's license and ability to travel between sites are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 6 months to 2 years of related experience.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to drive between construction sites.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Commitment to customer satisfaction.
• Ability to read plans and other construction documents.
• Require minimum supervision and ability to work systematically.

Responsibilities

• Inspect each home daily to assure workmanship quality and adherence to plans.
• Schedule and walk inspections with inspectors.
• Walk completed homes before homeowner walk-through and close-out to ensure readiness.
• Conduct homeowner orientation and ensure homeowner satisfaction.
• Assist in managing subcontractors for quality, safety, scheduling and cost control.
• Enforce site safety program and subcontractor compliance with safety codes.
• Maintain DR Horton cleanliness standards on all communities and sites.
• Assist in managing construction materials to prevent damage and loss.
• Support the construction schedule to deliver quality products on time and within budget.
• Provide superior customer service throughout all phases of construction.
• Develop positive relations with subcontractors and homeowners.
• Learn building codes, materials, methodologies and scheduling.
