Job summary

O'Reilly Auto Parts is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in sales, customer service, store appearance and operations in Columbia, SC. This role will assume leadership in the manager's absence and during opposing shifts, guiding team members to deliver outstanding service to both retail and professional customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the store team members in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
• Supervise the customer service levels on the retail showroom and execute service programs (Related sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, Rock the Lot, etc…).
• Work with the store manager to ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed during peak hours (lunch, late-afternoons, evenings, weekends).
• Assist the store manager in setting team member goals, giving feedback, coaching/mentoring, and keeping training current.
• Assist in recruiting tasks, scheduling and interviews, and collaborating to hire qualified team members.
• Make sure telephone is answered according to company policy.
• Ensure all buy online/ship to store, hub and store to store transfers, and DC add orders are processed promptly and customers contacted on shipment arrivals.
• Utilize electronic outside purchase order ledger to handle special orders and outside purchases efficiently.
• Ensure returns and exchanges are processed efficiently and refunds issued correctly.
• Ensure all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, are invoiced before product leaves the store.
• Communicate Zipline messages and delegate Image Maker/merchandising tasks.
• Ensure schedule adherence and proper clock-in/out by team members.
• Perform all store opening/closing duties, including day end procedures and securing money/deposits.
• Assist in maintaining the store building, parking lot, exterior signage/lighting, and delivery vehicles.
• All other duties as assigned.
