Rack Room Shoes is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in day-to-day operations, ensuring policy compliance and strong leadership for staff.

The role focuses on delivering an exceptional customer experience, training team members, and maintaining merchandising, inventory control, and loss prevention.

You will step in for the Store Manager when needed and strive to meet sales, service, and operational goals.

Qualifications

• Must pass an approved background check.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Strong managerial and organizational abilities.

• Solid visual merchandising skills.
• Working knowledge of footwear, accessories and shoe care.
• Basic mathematical skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and welfare of employees and customers.
• Deliver excellent customer shopping experiences and service standards.
• Oversee POS transactions, sales, discounts, refunds, loyalty, and opening/closing.
• Manage inventory: shipping/receiving, pricing, markdowns, and physical inventory.
• Maintain merchandising standards and visual presentation.
• Control payroll: scheduling and budget compliance; time and attendance.
• Train and develop direct reports according to policy.
• Oversee loss prevention and asset protection.
• Develop understanding of day-to-day operations.
