Job summary

Family Dollar in Bristol, PA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with daily store activities, help organize merchandise, and ensure the store meets company standards.

The role emphasizes strong communication, teamwork, and a commitment to a safe, friendly shopping environment. Previous retail or store-management experience is preferred for this part-time position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked store and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure all store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, bathrooms, floors, trash, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.
