Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. The role involves helping with daily store activities, merchandising, and ensuring compliance with company directives.

You will assist in training Store Associates and maintaining a safe, customer‑friendly environment. The position emphasizes strong communication, reliability, and ability to manage time and tasks in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities and compliance.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for merchandising impact.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, and recording transactions.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Support Store Manager in training and development of Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
