Job summary

Family Dollar in Easton, PA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, support customer service, and develop the team. You will open/close, process directives, and oversee promotions while ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming shopping environment.

The role requires strong communication, merchandise management, supervision of associates, and a commitment to loss prevention and policy compliance. Experience in retail is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives and store communications
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record-keeping (payroll, scheduling, deposits) and loss prevention
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure associates follow policies
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, trash, and overall neatness
• Other duties as assigned
